Goose Garage is 12 plugins for BeamNG.drive, the car simulator with real crash physics. It started with hybrids and grew into a full garage: an autopilot, a rally co-driver, a road dyno, an aero lab, a data logger, a crash lab, an OBD scanner, a tuning bench, an off-road kit and new dashboards.

First, what is BeamNG?

A driving game where the physics are real

BeamNG.drive is a car simulator on PC, known for soft-body physics. Every car is built from hundreds of connected points, so it bends, crashes and breaks like the real thing.

Soft-body cars: Nothing is a solid block. Frames flex, panels crumple and parts come loose, the way a real car does.
Real drivetrains: Engine, gearbox, clutch, differentials and wheels are each simulated, with real torque and rpm. That is why a hybrid can be built properly.
Open to mods: Players add cars, maps and systems. Mods are written in Lua, with JBeam files for parts and HTML apps for the on-screen dashboards.
Why ours: The game ships with very few hybrids and few test tools. Our plugins add both, and they work on almost any car in the game.

Turn any car into a hybrid

A battery, an electric motor and a generator for any vehicle with an engine, including trucks and buses. No vehicle files are replaced: it attaches when the car spawns and detaches cleanly.

New cluster: A car-style dashboard: power needle from CHG through ECO to PWR, big digital speed, gear and a drive mode you click to change.
Battery and fuel: 10-segment battery gauge that marks the HOLD level, fuel gauge with litres left, engine rpm, motor kW and battery kW.
5 drive modes: AUTO, EV PRIORITY, HYBRID, FORCE EV and GENERATOR.
HOLD, BOOST, EV, ECO: Save charge for later, a timed power boost, pure electric, or lowest-fuel driving.
Trip meter: Fuel now, average L/100 km and electric kWh/100 km.
31 live settings: Battery, motor, regen, assist band, engine start/stop and generator, with 4 presets: ECO, BALANCED, MADNESS and TRUCK.
Goose BUILDER: 1 to 16 cylinders, litres, 2 to 5 valves, NA, turbo, twin turbo or supercharger, and a gearbox from 4 to 50 speeds or CVT.
Big enough for trucks: Motors up to 5000 kW and batteries up to 2000 kWh for semis, buses and dump trucks.

48 ready-made hybrids

Where it started: eight stock BeamNG cars, each with 6, 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50-speed hybrid builds, and a compact dashboard to tune them while you drive.

Generator mode: The engine only charges the battery. The wheels are always driven by the motor.
Tune while driving: Change generator power, motor split, charge target and rpm from the dashboard.
Two strategies: CYCLE between charge levels, or KEEP FULL.
Live energy flow: Animated power lines, fuel in L/h and time to reach the charge target.
HOLD and BOOST: Keep the current charge, or add 50% motor power for 10 seconds.
4.7 fixes: The engine stops at the charge target, and EV hill starts no longer roll back.

Goose Garage 1.0

One panel for every plugin

Add one app, press MENU and pick a tool. Only the tool you pick is loaded and running, so your screen stays clean and the game stays fast.

Three groups: Drive, Test and Workshop, with a short note under every tool.
Eleven tools: Autopilot, Rally Co-driver, Off-road Kit, Hybrid Madness, Cockpit Skins, Crash Lab, Dyno Day, Aero Lab, Telemetry Studio, Garage Lab and OBD Scanner.
Nothing to replace: The plugins stay installed as they are. The hub just opens them, and greys out any that are not installed.

Two plugins that read the map's road network and look at the bends before you get there.

Goose Autopilot 1.0

Driver aids for any car

Slows you before bends, holds a cruise speed behind traffic, or lets the game's traffic AI drive for you, even all the way to a point you pick on the map.

Corner assist brakes before bends so you arrive at a safe speed
Adaptive cruise holds a set speed and keeps a gap to the car ahead
Self-drive hands control to the game's own traffic AI, staying in lane
GPS mode drives itself to the destination you set on the map
Comfort, Sport and Track profiles, with hotkeys
Pass and Mad profiles overtake slow cars, but only when the other lane is clear and no bend or crest blocks the view

Seven test tools and a set of new dashboards that turn the game into a workshop. Each one runs on almost any vehicle, and they read the hybrid data when Hybrid Madness is on.

A road dyno

Pick a gear and hold full throttle to redline. Dyno Day plots engine power, torque and wheel power against rpm, on a paper-style dyno sheet.

Crash Lab 1.0

A crash test lab

Run the car through an NCAP-style programme of four tests, or hit a barrier, block wall or bricks 80 m ahead at your own test speed. Then read the lab report, with a crash-test dummy showing where it hurt.

Stop on flat ground and Garage Lab weighs each corner and finds the centre of gravity from every point of the car.

Change tyre pressure while you drive, switch diffs and range, and hold a slow crawl speed up and down hills.

A coast-down drag test

Get up to speed, shift to neutral and coast. Aero Lab works out the car's drag and rolling resistance from how it slows down.
